Solo Hike
Solo Hike - Caleb
00:00 / 00:00

(Crunch crunch crunch) I heard the leaves crunching as I walked through the path. As I almost passed a card that was on a rock and it said, “Look at this” and I looked. The rock looked kinda rectangular and round. It was at least half covered in moss. And maybe a minute later I looked left and it was the way to my campsite and I knew that wasn't the way because when we talked about where to go that wasn't the way. So I looked right and someone was there probably so kids didn't go the wrong way. So I went right and I was walking and then I turned left when I needed to. When I turned left I saw a card and I read it (I can't remember what it said right now). Then I was walking down the hill and I could almost see the end and I thought to myself “Darn! I’m almost done with my solo hike.” But after that I just wanted to enjoy it while I still could. While I was walking down the small hill I saw another card and it said, “What do you think this looked like when your great grandparents were your age?” And I thought to myself for a minute or two and I said that I really didn't know. So I kept walking and I saw a card on a tree and it also said, “Look at this,” and then I looked at the tree for a little bit and I saw some moss on it and it was pretty tall. So I lifted myself up from the ground and kept walking. A little while after I saw that card I saw another one. And it said, “If you were an animal in the wild, what animal would you be?” And I thought about it for a little bit. And finally I thought to myself, “Hmm… maybe a bird or a small rodent.” So I lifted myself from the ground and kept walking and barely 10 seconds later I saw Ms. Robyn and I smiled and she smiled back. After that she told me to pick a place to sit and to keep working on a picture. When I was looking for a spot I noticed I was the second one there. I was walking around hearing the leaves crunch under me. I picked a spot a little way away from the middle so I sat down on the leaves and heard a fairly big crunch and I started to work. And as I was sitting down I felt like I was on something a little harder than a cushion. A couple minutes later I saw the next person who finished the solo hike. And as people were coming and finishing their solo hike it didn't look like there were a lot of people but I probably just couldn't see them so we started going back.

The Three Mile Hike
The Three Mile Hike - Everett
00:00 / 00:00

One month ago, my class went on a camping trip. My favorite part of the camping trip was the three mile hike. The three mile hike was my favorite for three reasons.

1.     There was a big overlook.

2.     The human stampede.

3.     The rolling human stampede.

This is why my favorite part is the three mile hike.
