WHOOSH! The wind flew past my ears, it felt a little chilly, but I liked it. We sat dawn by the fire pit and started the fire, CRACKLE! CRACKLE! CRACKLE! It felt toasty, it gave us light and warmth. All we heard was the crackling of the fire, and the howling of the wind thunder past us. Then we laid down near the fire pit, all we did was lay there and gaze at the stars, a couple people saw some constellations too! It was silent like a dream. But not for long…

We heard footsteps in the distance. It was coming closer and closer and closer but yet we could not see a thing. Then we saw a flashlight. At that moment, I knew it was the other class. So all of the kids hid before all the kids got to the camp site. Then…

We all stood up and scared them! Our teachers said that we would make s’mores while they were stargazing. We were jealous of them until…

The teacher said, “Time to go get marshmallows and a skewer!” Everybody rushed to the tables, I turned on my flashlight and ran as fast as my little legs could take me! But sadly my legs were too short. I was the last kid there, at least I thought…

Some people were calmly walking to the wooden table, l was relieved. I got back to the wood table. I was the last one back after I roasted my marshmallow. I got a nice and crispy treat, it was very chocolatey. Then the other group came back, then we sat down and started to sing together. It was magical! Some people closed their eyes… I did to. While we were singing I sow a sunset on a beautiful sunny evening, birds were flying across the sky but a little while later it was time to go to bed. “Oh drats!” I sighed. Over all ready?

Crunch! Crunch! I felt the leaves and sticks crunch and crack under my feet. It felt like I was in the army walking on a lot of rocks. I was strolling back from stargazing, and we were going to our campsite. I was with Joseph and Jack. We were giggling, and at one point I said in a silly voice, “What if the s'mores get mad and start world s’mores war 1?” We started hysterically laughing.

We finally got to the campfire, and we saw Ms. Abby’s class around the campfire chatting. Then Ms. Abby’s class went with Ms. Robyn, and our class stayed with Ms. Abby.

When I was roasting my marshmallow, I heard everybody cracking up. I looked up and saw that Dustin’s marshmallow was on fire! He blew it out and it was fully black! I looked like the night sky on a dark night.

Then Ms. Abby's class came back and we sang. When we sang the song Pink Pajamas. Everybody started laughing really hard. It was a night I will never forget.

“Is everyone almost done with their marshmallows?” Ms. Robyn asked our class. My class was on a third grade camping trip. We were sitting in a circle around a magnificent campfire finishing up marvelous marshmallows. I LOVE marshmallows! They're amazing! But really messy! After everybody took a big bite of marshmallows someone replied to Ms. Robyn's question. “I think so,” someone replied. As I listened to people's voices drift into the night wind, I felt how amazing it felt to be with all my friends! Then I heard Ms. Robyn voice over all of my friends' conversations. "We should probably start singing songs!” “Yay,” a few people shouted. "Who has any suggestions for a song?” Ms. Abby asked us. (Ms. Abby is our other teacher. She is great.) At least 12 hands went up into the air like bullets! “Carlo,” Ms. Abby chose. “What's your suggestion for a song?” “Herman the Worm,” Carlo replied. And before Ms. Abby could ask how Herman the Worm goes, we were off singing loud and proud. I have never been a fan of Herman the Worm but today I didn't care because this was a once in a lifetime experience. I was with all my friends singing in the dark around a campfire and while we were singing our hearts out, I felt a match light in my heart and by each word it grew and grew.

“We did it!” We made a fire, now we will make food. I was so excited to eat. I walked to the fire. The fire smells like wood, the fire felt like a hot summer day. The summer breeze was now a fall breeze. It was as cold as an ice cube, and the rain was like the pitter patter of feet. Then, we all made sandwiches. That was like a magical food. I loved it, then I had to leave. I was so sad. Me and my dad were in the car and I said, “This was fun.” “Tomorrow mom will come.” “Okay dad, I love you.”

It was dark outside at the campfire with my class. Crickle crackle crickle the fire said. The class ate s'mores. They were so scrumptious. I will explain it to you. The marshmallows were as soft as a cloud. The chocolate was as dark as the night sky. The graham crackers were as crunchy as chips. They were so delicious. After we ate s'mores we sang songs like Pink Pajamas, Herman the Worm and the Soda Song and the Bill Board song and more. When we were done, Ms. Robyn explained how to brush our teeth (while camping). We did it and put our PJ’s on. And we were off to bed.

As I strolled I heard cicadas and smelled smoke. First off, me and Jack went to the campfire after stargazing. When we were walking back I heard my feet smash the wood chips.

Me and Jack smelled the marshmallows! Me and Jack were so happy. So then we ate S’mores! We had 2 S’mores! My first bite WAS SO GOOSHY! It was so scrumptious, I said “Yum!” Then we sang. I watched the fire. It was like souls coming up from the dead! It was so creepy and everyone was singing. It a was fun time! Then me and Jack went to bed.

I was playing by the fire and it was fun and then it was pizza time and we ate and then we all had to sleep and I said, “Oolala,” and then I walked to the bathroom.
